There are 12 common foods which make up 85% of all food related reactions: Milk & Dairy, Soy, Egg, Wheat, Shellfish, Tomato, Peanut, Kiwi, Orange, Tree Nuts, Sweet corn, Fish.
Food intolerances and Substance Sensitivities - Foods and Non-foods - are associated with many common diseases; and can be either a minor or major contributing factor; a trigger for temporary or chronic condition; or even the primary cause of ill health.
Our combination test is unique, as is our testing procedure. Our aim of creating this test was to be as comprehensive as possible - capturing any adverse reaction a person may encounter. Usually testing is offered only for either - Allergy or Intolerance. We have found that there is sometimes a thin line between distinguishing Allergies, intolerances and sensitivities; as today many people are affected by several types of adverse reactions. We strongly feel testing only one or the other would be a disservice. It would leave a gap of many unanswered questions and unrecognised reactions which may be the cause of some of the uncomfortable symptoms people might experience. Thus AllergyLink tests for all types of adverse reactions, food intolerance and substance sensitivities. In addition testing and providing information about other food related reactions like gluten intolerance, lactose intolerance, histamine sensitivity, sorbitol intolerance, oxalate sensitivity or other chemical sensitivities; as well as vitamin, mineral and enzyme deficiencies.
The tests do address adverse reactions like sensitivities, food intolerances, allergy-like reactions, toxins, energy toxins, substance sensitivity, chemical and environmental sensitivities. Essentially the tests identify Substance Reactions.
After many years of experience, we are confident to say that the accuracy of the testing procedure lies between 90% - 99%. The standardised testing protocol incorporates an accuracy check which is geared to reach an accuracy of 97-100%. Test results have to reach this high 'benchmark' in order to be released as '100% Complete'.
However, in rare cases certain foods or substances may not show in the test report especially if exposure to a known ‘offender’ has been avoided or eliminated for a period of time - usually more than 3 months. We try to address this specifically. There is a section on the test-form/questionnaire for specific items that have been avoided, so this can be acknowledged and special attention paid for scrutinized analysis.
